Salesforce is the best tool for exactly zero jobs
Salesforce is the best CRM for exactly zero jobs. HubSpot too. So is every other one you rent.
A rented CRM is built for the vendor's job. That job is one product, sold to every company that will sit through the demo. It is a very good tool for that. It is the best tool for nobody's actual work. The day your desk is not the median customer they invented, you do not get a better fit. You get another seat, another add-on, and a services partner to live in the gap.
Sanctum CRM started as Respondable's Best Jobs in TA. Not as a platform bet. As their desk. Two Gmail accounts going back to 2008, and dumps from two or three CRMs they had already quit. Those products were excellent at being CRMs. They were useless at being a Tuesday morning at Respondable. The same person was three rows. The title was wrong. The export was a file format and a prayer. So we built the tool for that pile. Search on their names. Tags they invented. Call lists they named for the conversation they were about to have. Their categories, not a stage in somebody else's pipeline.
Owning it is the guarantee
Building the software yourself is what makes it the best tool for your job. Not because you are a better product manager than Salesforce. Because the fit is a change you can make. Wrong on Monday, right on Tuesday, and Tuesday is your edit, not a feature request in a portal. Respondable's data stayed Respondable's. When they left a tool, they were not supposed to leave the people behind in it. Best Jobs passed that test. The old site is gone. The guarantee is not.
That is the part people miss when they hear "custom." Custom for one staffing firm is how it starts. It does not stay a snowflake. Best Jobs grew into Sanctum CRM, and Sanctum CRM is the boilerplate. AI-enabled. API-first. Open source, AGPL, so the next org is not starting from Salesforce's object model. They start from a CRM they can change. That is why it is a perfect fit for every org. Not because we guessed every workflow in a demo. Because a perfect fit is not a preset. It is software you own, pointed at the job you actually have, with an agent able to work the same contacts you do.
Rent the famous one if you want the famous one. It will be the best CRM in the category, and the best tool for zero jobs inside your building. Best Jobs was the opposite bet. Sanctum CRM is that bet, grown up, and it will fit because you can make it fit.
